A very small church,
nestled in some very big mountains.
What to Expect at an ascension worship service
The Episcopal Church is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, and traces its heritage to the beginnings of Christianity. Our liturgy, from the Book of Common Prayer, is almost completely taken from the Bible. It retains the ancient structure and traditions. It is beautiful.
We strive to love our neighbors as ourselves and to respect the dignity of every person.
We sit, kneel, and stand during the service. Standing is for praise, during hymns and the reading of the Gospel. Sitting is for instruction. We kneel for prayer. If you want to sit for the entire service, that’s fine also.
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper almost every Sunday. Everyone is welcome. We come to the altar rail and kneel or stand. At the present time, due to Covid, we do not share the cup of wine.
Each person is important. Everyone exercises a vital role in the governance, outreach, and ministry of our church.
We strive to love our God, our neighbors, and all created things. Services usually last an hour. Occasionally the message evolves into a discussion, and you are welcome to ask questions and contribute to the conversation.
All are welcome to find a spiritual home in the Ascension Episcopal Church. All.
